About Me
My name is David Franklin, a 54 year old Artist Blacksmith from Bromsgrove, Worcestershire. I have over 15 years of experience in creating hand crafted wrought ironwork for the home and garden.
In addition to my blacksmith work, I am a builder and handyman who fits kitchens, bathrooms, en-suites and building extensions to a variety of properties.
I am absolutely passionate about what I do and pride myself on the ability to create a product that not only looks good but makes my customers happy. All of the designs I make are created from scratch with time, thought and effort put into every project.
A Little Background
For over 15 years I worked at Long Bridge Rover making cars, however I was made redundant in 2005 when the company went out of business. After leaving Rover I decided to use the skills I had attained over the years to follow a new career path.
After reading in the local newspaper that the community blacksmith in Burcot was selling up I went to visit his forge. The blacksmith at the time rented the forge from the original owner, a Mr Ken White. After talking to Mr White I knew that my vocation would be serving both the local and wider community producing things from wrought iron.
I spent 3 happy years at Burcot Forge but decided in 2008 to move to bigger premises where I continue to run my business.
